If you are having trouble thinking of a focus for an upcoming paper, visit the library databases listed below to get started. These resources are also great for finding information on controversial issues.

To access these resources from off campus, login with your myMCC username and password.

  • Opposing Viewpoints
    • Click the Browse All Topics button, located in the blue bar in the center of the page.
  • CQ Researcher
    • Click the Browse Topics tab to select from a list of available topics.
    • Browse the list of Hot Topics.

Other places to look for topic ideas:

  • Browse the web for new ideas (and to further develop existing interests)
  • ProCon.org
    • ProCon.org is a free resource and is similar to the two resources listed above. Browse topics by Category or A-Z list.
  • Browse a current newspaper
